Conor McGregor Fires Back at Floyd Mayweather Over Alleged ‘Cartel’ Beat Down

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are still exchanging words months after their fight.

Floyd Mayweather may be one of the wealthiest athletes on Earth but that doesn’t mean he’s got time to stay up to date on the latest news regarding his past opponents.

On Wednesday, Mayweather dropped a message on Twitter about an alleged dust up between UFC champion Conor McGregor and an altercation with gangsters in Ireland that ended with a bounty on his head.

That rumor about McGregor first circulated last year and has been debunked several times over but Mayweather decided to weigh in with his own opinion months after the alleged incident happened.

“I already f–ked you up in 2017 now they about to f–k you up in 2018. You’re about to start your new year off with a bang,” Mayweather wrote on Twitter.

Well it didn’t take McGregor long to respond as he fired back at Mayweather with very simple four word answer.

“I am the cartel,” McGregor wrote.

It’s interesting timing that Mayweather decided to open fire on McGregor over a rumor that swirled several months ago considering UFC president Dana White had just admitted recently that the UFC lightweight champion would like nothing more than to get a rematch with the undefeated boxer.

Mayweather defeated McGregor last August by 10th round TKO to move his professional record to 50-0 before announcing his retirement.

Whether they’ll actually fight again remains to be seen, but neither Mayweather nor McGregor can see to leave the other one alone five months after their boxing match was finished.
