Conor McGregor Blasts the UFC After Hearing His Lightweight Title is Being Stripped

Conor McGregor took aim at the UFC after Dana White said on Wednesday that he was being stripped of his lightweight title.

Conor McGregor isn’t going down without a fight.

The first ever simultaneous two division champion in UFC history is about to be a man with no belts after UFC president Dana White announced on Wednesday that McGregor would be stripped of his lightweight title as soon as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway step into the cage together in the main event at UFC 223.

White has long stated that the UFC would have to move the lightweight division forward if McGregor hadn’t returned to action considering he won the belt back in Nov. 2016 but hasn’t competed inside the Octagon since that time.

The UFC had already taken away McGregor’s featherweight title and now it appears he’ll no longer be a champion at all and that’s not sitting well with him at all.

“You’s’ll strip me of nothing — you’s do nothing cunts,” McGregor fired back on Twitter.

McGregor offered a similar response when the UFC took away his featherweight title as that division moved forward after he won the belt with a knockout over Jose Aldo and then engaged in a pair of fights with Nate Diaz at welterweight before winning the lightweight title in Nov. 2016.

Obviously whether he has a belt or not, McGregor is still the biggest draw in the sport so what he says certainly carries some weight to it, but it will be interesting to see if he’s gunning for the winner of Saturday night’s main event in his first fight back later this year.
