Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz reignite rivalry with talk of trilogy fight
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’s rivalry is one of the biggest in mixed martial arts (MMA) history, with their two bouts in 2016 ranking among the most successful pay-per-views in UFC history.
The two have never missed an opportunity to take shots at each other, and this past weekend was no exception when McGregor saw promotional videos for Dana White’s Power Slap league and suggested facing Diaz in that arena.
Diaz became a superstar after submitting McGregor on short notice at UFC 196, and despite McGregor winning their rematch at UFC 202, Diaz has continued to remind McGregor of their first match.
While a trilogy bout between the two has been discussed for years, it is now complicated by the fact that Diaz is no longer under UFC contract.
McGregor is currently working to return to action following a severe leg break, while Diaz has declared his intention to pursue big fights in boxing, likely against Jake Paul.
