Colby Covington SLAMS Ben Askren: “His resume is dog s**t!”

Never one to keep his opinions to himself, Colby Covington did what he does best in a recent lashing out where he slammed fellow UFC welterweight Ben Askren – who has continued to take aim at reigning welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

“Ben Askren doesn’t even have a UFC win yet,” Covington told MMA Junkie. “He needs to get a UFC win before he starts talking. And even when he gets one UFC win, you’re going to need a couple to get a title shot. You don’t get gifted title shots because you talk a bunch of shit on Twitter or on Instagram. Your resume speaks for itself. His resume is dog shit. He’s beat nobody. He’s got a bunch of nobodies on his list. He was beating a bunch of cans in Asian bingo halls. That’s all his resume consists of.”

Covington, the former welterweight interim champ, recently accepted a fight with Robbie Lawler, forfeiting his #1 contender status. Despite Askren having a scheduled bout with Jorge Masvidal, he has been sure to keep his namne closely associated with Usman through an ongoing feud.

Aside from the above, Covington also added that Askren should be focusing on preparing for, and promoting his fight with Masvidal – a friend and training partner of Covington.
