Colby Covington Says He Will Confront Joe Rogan When He Sees Him At UFC 225

Colby Covington isn't backing down from his feud with UFC commentator Joe Rogan and has turned the heat up once again.

Colby Covington faces Rafael dos Anjos this Saturday at UFC 225, but a man getting a lot of his attention over the last few weeks has been UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

A few weeks ago, Covington said that he “might have to slap” Rogan when he next sees him following some remarks that the UFC commentator made about Covington needing to watch his step when talking about his former college roommate Jon Jones.

Rogan later responded on one of his podcasts later that week stating “Colby Covington don’t slap me. You said you were going to slap me, but don’t slap me. I was talking shit,” but it appears Rogan’s request has fallen on deaf ears.

Speaking with BJPenn Radio last evening, Covington mocked Rogan’s martial arts credentials.

“His little mouth was trying to run and say things when he shouldn’t have an opinion. You’ve never been in an Octagon, you don’t have any experience fighting.
“Just because you do these little Tae Kwon Do tournaments and you can’t even get first place in those, doesn’t mean you can come talk to the King of Chaos, AKA the new welterweight king on June 9th.”

When asked what could settle the beef between the two of them, Covington said that it would only be buried when they meet face-to-face and that he intends to confront him later this week in Chicago.

“It will be squashed when he stops running his little mouth like his opinion matters. His opinion is irrelevant. He thinks he has a say in everything and he’s a biased announcer as it is.

“If it’s a Jon Jones fight, his balls are so far in his mouth that he’s just going to be saying anything Jon does, ‘Oh, my God! He’s the greatest of all time!’ — this and that. I don’t think the beef’s squashed. I got something to say to him and I’m going to say something when I see him face to face in Chicago.”

Covington will face dos Anjos in the co-main event of the evening at UFC 225. In the main event, UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will defend his title against Yoel Romero.
