Claudio Silva vs Nordine Taleb Rebooked For UFC Liverpool Three Years After They Were Originally Matched Up

If ever a fight has gone full circle in the UFC, it's Claudio Silva vs Nordine Taleb.

After originally being booked to fight in April 2015, Claudio Silva vs Nordine Taleb will take place on May 27, 2018, at UFC Fight Night 130 in Liverpool, England.

The fight was announced this evening on UFC.com.

Silva (11-1) hasn’t fought since November 2014 when he defeated Leon Edwards via split decision at UFC Fight Night 56. For context, Edwards has fought 8 times since that bout, whilst Silva has remained on the sidelines after suffering several serious injuries to both his knees and feet. Thankfully, Silva has now fully recovered and will now return to the Octagon in May to see if he can continue his 11-fight win streak. The Brazilian, who has resided in London, England, since 2007, is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Ricardo Vieira and has two wins under the UFC banner against Brits Bradley Scott and Edwards.

Taleb (14-4) expected to face Silva at UFC 186 in Montreal, Canada, but instead ended up facing and defeating Chris Clements after Silva suffered a broken foot. The Canadian is currently riding a two-fight win streak with wins over Oliver Enkamp and most recently Danny Roberts last December at UFC on Fox 26.

UFC Liverpool is filling up fast and here is the current fight card:

Stephen Thompson vs. Darren Till
Gunnar Nelson vs. Neil Magny
Makwan Amirkhani vs. Jason Knight
Eric Spicely vs. Darren Stewart – not official
Tom Breese vs. Daniel Kelly
Elias Theodorou vs. Trevor Smith
Arnold Allen vs. Mads Burnell

Bradley Scott vs. Salim Touahri
Claudio Silva vs. Nordine Taleb
