Chuck Liddell Still Training for Possible Return to Fighting

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell sounds ready to book a return fight after last competing in 2010

Chuck Liddell isn’t ready to close the door on a return to fighting.

After a brief stint on the latest season of “Celebrity Big Brother” where he was the first cast member booted from the house, Liddell commented in a post show interview that he was absolutely staying in shape just in case he can book a return to the cage.

Liddell last fought in 2010 when he suffered a knockout to Rich Franklin in the UFC before calling it a career. Over the past year, Liddell has said that he would be interested in possibly returning to action and at 48 years of age, he’s still ready if the right opportunity comes along.

“It’s still a possibility for sure,” Liddell told TMZ. “I didn’t want to get too far out of shape. Staying in shape. I’m staying ready.”

There are still a few fights Liddell wouldn’t mind having if he was able to reach an agreement to come out of retirement and judging by the matchups that would mean that Bellator MMA would have to be the promotion showing interest in him.

“I’ve said it before in the news, Chael [Sonnen] would be a good warm up fight to get back into it. Tito [Ortiz] would be great if he would even consider fighting me, I hear he won’t fight me. He’ll fight other people but not me,” Liddell said.

“It depends on who they offer. I’m down for just about anything.”

It’s not clear if Bellator MMA would be interested in adding Liddell at this time, but he certainly seems ready to entertain the offer should they come calling.
