Carlos Condit targeting his return to action in the UFC

"The Natural Born Killer" is back!

“The Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit appears to be back.

It’s been more than a year since Condit last fought inside the UFC Octagon when he fell by submission to Demian Maia in August 2016, but it seems the former interim welterweight champion has the itch to compete again.

On Tuesday, Condit dropped a message on Twitter to UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby asking for an opponent as early as December or January 2018.

Ever since his heartbreaking split decision loss to Robbie Lawler in early 2016, Condit has been contemplating retirement from the sport. That possibility was only strengthened when Condit fell to Maia and he frankly stated that perhaps it was time to call it a career.

“I don’t know if I have any business fighting at this level anymore,” Condit said last August. “I’ve been at this for a really long time. The pressure of kind of being one of the top guys for almost a decade, it’s been awesome to be involved in this sport as long as I have. I got to do what I love for a living for a very long time. I don’t know, man. I don’t know if I belong here anymore. We’ll see.”

Some much needed time off has apparently cleared the cobwebs for Condit as he seems ready to resume his career in the UFC.

Most recently, Condit has been engaged in a new business venture after starting a coffee company in New Mexico but it appears his heart still lies with fighting and he’s plotting his return to the Octagon sooner rather than later.
