Brendan Loughnane Accepted A Fight On ACB 87 Less Than 24 Hours Ahead Of Fight Night
British featherweight Brendan Loughnane came very close last evening to taking a fight on tonight’s ACB 87 fight card on less than 24-hours notice.
Loughnane (15-3), who hasn’t fought since November last year when he sustained a broken arm in his win over Paata Tsxapelia at ACB 75 in Stuggart, German, was approached by ACB officials about stepping up to fight in the place of Tim Wilde.
Wilde was set to meet Alibek Akhazaev, but was pulled from the card for undisclosed reasons last evening. Loughnane was then approached about taking the fight with the Russian and accepted the fight in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, the Russian wasn’t willing to accept the fight with Loughnane and the fight has now been scrapped from the card all together.
Loughnane is now left in the similar position of waiting on the sidelines.
Speaking with MMANytt.com earlier this morning, Loughnane recalled what happened last evening with the fight negotiations and then proceeded to lay down an open challenge to any UK featherweight currently on a winning streak to face him at BRAVE 13 on June 9.
The challenge is out there.
