Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor Picks Winner Of James Gallagher vs Adam Borics Having Fought Them Both
Bellator 196 main event fighters James Gallagher and Adam Borics are widely considered two of the best young talents in Bellator’s featherweight division, but it’s not only the hot prospect tag that they share.
Both Gallagher and Borics have fought flamboyant American fighter, Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor on home soil and both won via rear-naked choke submission. Having fought both Borics and Gallagher inside the Bellator cage, Taylor is arguably one of the best-placed people in the sport to assess how the fight will play out on April 6 and speaking to MMANytt.com, Taylor gave his prediction.
“I think Adam will win via unanimous decision,” Taylor said. “Adam was very strong and I think he has more heart than James. He’s willing to take a punch to give a punch. Gallagher is very timid and hasn’t fought anybody with a wide verity of arsenals like Adam has. Adam has a ground game, but he also has kicking boxing skills and I think it’s just going to be too much for James to handle.”
Taylor currently trains at Bodyshop MMA alongside the likes of AJ McKee and Aaron Pico. Working with both of them on a daily basis, Taylor is quick to recognize their level of talent, but at the same time, he says they’re still far from hitting their prime.
“Both Adam and James do not come close to AJ or Aaron,” Taylor said. “Those guys are on a whole different level and I still struggle to keep up with them and they give me the best work.
“What’s crazy is they won’t hit their prime until they’re both 29-30 and it’s scary because that’s like 8-9 years from now. I say both AJ and Aaron have wrestling that is on par with Askren.”
Taylor has gone 1-1 since his losses to Gallagher and Borics and will fight next on March 24 at Dragon House 28.
