Angela Lee And Christian Lee Recieve Their Black Belts
ONE Championship fighters Angela Lee (21) and Christian Lee (19) received their black belts yesterday at the United MMA and Fitness Center in Hawaii.
The Lee siblings were promoted by Michael Fowler, a 3rd degree blackbelt under Fabio Santos.
Angela is the current ONE Championship atomweight champion and earlier this week announced that she will be defending her title for third time at ONE: Unstoppable Dreams on May 18 in Singapore. Lee is 8-0 as a professional mixed martial artist and has won 7 her fights by way of her submission. Angela made major waves on the global scene when she successfully hit a twister submission on Natalie Gonzales Hills at ONE: Pride of Lions in Nov. 2015. Lee trains out of both United MMA in Hawaii under her father Ken, and also Evolve MMA in Singapore.
Christian is Angela’s younger brother and is similarly making waves in ONE Championship with an 8-1 record. Earlier this week, Christian announced via his Instagram page that he will fight at ONE: Visions of Victory on March 9 when he faces former ONE featherweight title challenger, Kazunori Yokota. Christian has 4 of his 8 wins via submission including a rare Brabo Choke that he hit against Cary Bullos at ONE: Ascent to Power in May, 2016.
“I am so honoured, to stand by my brother today, and receive our black belts,” Angela wrote on her Instagram.
Thank you very much, Mike Fowler for this momentous promotion ?? & thank you very much to my Dad for the 15+ years of helping me learn, drill, compete and improve.
Dedication, hard work and the will to constantly learn and improve will always be the ultimate goal! #OSS ??”
