Andrew Tate Declines Sean Strickland’s Challenge

"Everyone's trying to lure me into fighting" - Tate

Controversial Ex-Kickboxer Explains His Refusal to Fight Strickland

Andrew Tate, a former kickboxing competitor turned controversial figure, has been publicly challenged by ex-UFC champion Sean Strickland. Strickland views Tate as a charlatan exploiting his followers for financial gain and seeks to humble him in the ring. Despite acknowledging the potential financial benefits of such a match, Tate has dismissed the challenge, citing engagements with a “bigger fight.”

In a statement on YouTube, Tate expressed his disinterest in the fight. “I don’t know, man. Everyone’s trying to lure me into fighting,” he said. “Sure, I could spar. I could fight and make anywhere from $10 to $20 million. But it’s not worth my time, even though that’s the kind of money that could be generated. I don’t think they understand. If they really knew the life I live or the things I’ve said, they’d realize I’m already fighting.”

Tate’s reference to a “bigger fight” likely alludes to his legal troubles in Romania, where he and his brother face charges including rape and human trafficking. Arrested in December 2022 after a high-profile exchange with climate activist Greta Thunberg, Tate was later placed under house arrest. As the investigation continues, the possibility of the Tate brothers standing trial looms, delaying any return to the ring for Andrew Tate.

During his kickboxing career, Tate boasted a record of 76 wins and 9 losses.
