Alex Pereira on Israel Adesanya’s Future in UFC!
UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira achieved fame in the MMA world after defeating Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. Before this, the Brazilian had beaten Adesanya twice in kickboxing, including a knockout victory. However, at UFC 287, Adesanya claimed his long-awaited revenge by knocking out Pereira in the second round following a slow start. Shortly thereafter, Adesanya lost his title to American fighter Sean Strickland.
Adesanya’s Anticipated Return
Adesanya, also known as “Stylebender,” is expected to make his much-awaited return against the current middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis, at UFC 295 in Perth, Australia. Despite the anticipation, the UFC has yet to officially confirm the bout.
Pereira’s Insight
In a recent interview with Fox Sports Australia, Alex Pereira shared his views on Adesanya’s future in the sport. Pereira pointed out that Adesanya hasn’t been the same since losing his title to Strickland.
“To be honest, I knew the fight against Strickland would be tough for him. He hasn’t really been the same since our match. In recent months, he hasn’t been himself either, behaving a bit differently than usual. I don’t even know what to expect from him when he makes his comeback,” Pereira said.
