Al Iaquinta vs. Paul Felder Expected for UFC 223 in April
A lightweight clash between Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder is in the works for the upcoming UFC 223 card expected on April 7 with the event tentatively scheduled for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Sunday with verbal agreements in place from the fighters.
UFC officials have not confirmed the matchup yet.
The matchup was actually expected to take place last December at UFC 218 but Iaquinta was forced off the card due to injury. Felder ended up earning a TKO victory against Charles Oliveira instead.
Now the two lightweight sluggers will meet in a highly anticipated showdown in April instead.
No fights have been made official for the UFC 223 card as of yet but matchmakers are now building the event with more bouts expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
