Aaron Chalmers Says He’s Been Invited To Train At SBG Ireland

Aaron Chalmers has given some updates on his BAMMA career, SBG Ireland and how UK viewers can watch Bellator 200.

Ex-Reality TV star Aaron Chalmers will fight under the Bellator banner for the first time on May 25 and he’s given some exciting updates six weeks ahead of fight night.

Chalmers, 3-0, has fought exclusively for BAMMA prior to signing for Bellator and there was previously no word on whether or not he would continue to fight for the British promotion following his bout at Bellator 200. Speaking to The Sun this week, Chalmers revealed that he almost certainly won’t be.

“I have left BAMMA, a few things went on, they said they would release me but they haven’t so my solicitor is sorting it out through the courts,” Chalmers said.

“It’s a legal issue which is a nightmare but it will not affect my Bellator show.

“I am focused on the fight and the camp.”

Bellator 200 is set to be a massive event with the likes of Gegard Mousasi, Mirko Cro Cop, Roy Nelson and Michael “Venom” Page all set to fight. Bellator’s UK TV deal has previously meant fans can only catch the event 24-hours or even a week after it’s taken place, but according to Chalmers there’s a possibility that might change before Bellator 200.

“Normally when Bellator come to the UK fans watching it on TV have to get it on catch-up but we are hoping it is going to be shown on Channel 5,” Chalmers said.

“It’s a bit up-in-the-air but MTV might be showing it as well as they carried Geordie Shore. I am sure fans will be able to catch it live.”

Chalmers currently trains alongside the likes of Leon Edwards, Fabian Edwards and Tom Breese in Birmingham, but has recently cross-trained at American Top Team. When asked if he would consider training at SBG Ireland, Chalmers revealed he was already in talks to go train in Ireland.

“My agent is actually in contact with head coach and Conor’s mentor John Kavanagh over there and he has invited us over. It’s only a matter of time,” Chalmers said.”

“Once I get this fight and this camp over I would love to go over and train with John.”
