The fight will serve as Krylov’s return to the UFC after he exited the promotion back in 2016 when his contract came to an end. Since that time, the popular Russian fighter has racked up four more wins — all by knockout or submission — including a victory over former UFC slugger Fabio Maldonado.
Now Krylov will return to the UFC with a chance to face off with a top 10 opponent on his first day back in the promotion.
Blachowicz has been riding the best run of his UFC career with three straight wins including a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance against Jimi Manuwa back in March.
Blachowicz will hope to keep his win streak alive when he faces Krylov in September in what should be a very excited matchup for the UFC’s debut card in Russia.
