Floyd Mayweather Says ‘Exhibition’ Against Tenshin Nasukawa Will Likely Happen

Floyd Mayweather just can't seem to make up his mind but apparently his match against Tenshin Nasukawa is on track to happen again except he clarifies that it was never really a fight.

Floyd Mayweather just can’t seem to make up his mind about a proposed matchup against Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan.

Just days after a press conference to announce the fight, Mayweather walked that back in an Instagram post by saying he never actually agreed to face Nasukawa and the bout was supposed to be nothing more than a show for some wealthy fans willing to pay to see him compete.

With that, Mayweather said the fight was off.

Now the undefeated boxer is back to saying he’s once again expected to face Nasukawa while further clarifying that this isn’t actually a fight.

“Not no official fight — exhibition, small nine minute exhibition,” Mayweather told TMZ on Thursday.

“If I do, do it, it’s going to be the highest paid exhibition ever. Just for promoting this event so far I made seven figures. Just from me talking about the event. I’ve already made crazy money just talking about the event.

Mayweather added that there will be no real stakes in this contest but rather just nine minutes of what sounds like sparring with the 20-year old kickboxer from Japan.

“It’s going to be a little boxing exhibition. No kicking at all,” Mayweather said. “Moving around with the guy for nine minutes and of course it’s going to be the highest paid exhibition ever.”

As far as the notion that Mayweather is trying to do this exhibition bout against Nasukawa because he’s in desperate need of money, he laughs off that assumption.

Mayweather says he’s very well off financially but what rich person doesn’t want to add to their fortune?

“Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah [Winfrey], they still go out there and do different things and get paid financially great,” Mayweather said. “I’m far from hurting for money. I’ve got a ton of money.”

RIZIN has yet to make any official statements on whether or not this ‘exhibition’ bout between Mayweather and Nasukawa is moving forward for their New Year’s Eve card or if this could be a private viewing for those wealthy onlookers willing to pay.
