Two Title Fights Official As All Fighters Make Weight Ahead of UFC 235: Jones vs. Smith

UFC 235 officially has two title fights ready for Saturday night.

A day ahead of the event in Las Vegas, all four main and co-main event fighters stepped onto the scale and made weight without incident.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was one of the first fighters on the scale as he came in at 205 pounds with a smile on his face as he looks to make the first defense of his title after winning the belt this past December in a rematch against Alexander Gustafsson.

His opponent Anthony Smith didn’t weigh-in until an hour later but he also had no problem making the light heavyweight limit as he came in at 204.5 pounds.

Meanwhile, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley was also one of the first fighters to weigh-in Friday morning as he came in at 170 pounds in his latest title defense.

Challenger Kamaru Usman also had no problems making championship weight as he came in at 169 pounds for his first opportunity to capture gold in the UFC.

UFC newcomer Ben Askren also enjoyed his first official weigh-in as he hit the scale at 170.5 pounds. Askren is undefeated and a former Bellator and ONE Championship champion but this will be his first test since arriving on the UFC roster last year.

Former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler weighed in at 170 pounds as he looks to bounce back from a knee injury in his last fight and give Askren a rude welcome to the Octagon on Saturday night.
