A heavyweight showdown between former champion Fabricio Werdum and fellow submission specialist Alexey Oleynik has been confirmed for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Moscow, Russia on Sept. 15.

Oleynik is coming off another submission victory as he defeated Junior Albini at UFC 224 in Brazil with his patented Ezekiel choke. Oleynik has gone 5-2 since joining the UFC roster in 2014.

As for Werdum, the former champion will look to bounce back from a recent knockout loss to Alexander Volkov when he returns in September.

Werdum is widely considered the most dangerous grappler in the heavyweight division so it will be interesting to see him test his ground skills against another noted submission specialist in Oleynik.

While the fight between Werdum and Oleynik has been agreed by both fighters there’s no word yet if this will serve as the main event in Russia or just a featured bout on the main card.

UFC Fight Night from Moscow goes down Sept. 15 as the promotion lands in Russia for the first time in history.
