BREAKING ODDS: Chris Weidman underdog ahead of LHW debut
Yesterday reports from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto revealed plans for former middleweight champion Chris Weidman to make his light heavyweight debut against undefeated contender Dominick Reyes. Now, just a day later, Ohmbet are first in the world to release betting lines, revealing Weidman as underdog ahead of this pivotal fight.
Chris Weidman vs Dominick Reyes betting lines
The betting lines form Ohmbet reveal Weidman at 2.38, and Reyes as a comfortable favourite at 1.54. Admittedly, Weidman isn’t a huge underdog, but the oddsmakers seem to be leaning in Reyes direction.
The odds may be a reflection of the fighters most recent results in the octagon. Wiedman has undoubtedly faced top-tier competition, but he has also lost four out of his five last fights – all of them via T/KO. His most recent win came in July 2017 when he submitted Kelvin Gastelum. His most recent fight was a TKO loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Reyes on the other hand is undefeated and has lined up five straight wins, including victories over Jared Cannonier and Volkan Oezdemir.
Weidman and Reyes will face off in the main event at UFC Boston, taking place at the TD Garden on October 18th.
