Edson Barboza Faces Dan Hooker at UFC on FOX 31 in Milwaukee
A lightweight showdown between Edson Barboza and Dan Hooker has been added to the upcoming UFC on FOX 31 card from Milwaukee on Dec. 15.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Wednesday via the New Zealand Herald.
The fight will serve as Hooker’s biggest opportunity to surge forward in the lightweight division, where he’s looked unstoppable of late.
A former featherweight, Hooker moved up to a much healthier weight class and the results have shown as he’s picked up four wins in a row — all by knockout or submission.
Now Hooker will take a decided step up in competition against one of the most ferocious strikers in the history of the UFC.

Barboza has been facing the top fighters in the lightweight division since he first arrived in the UFC while constantly knocking on the door for title contention.
The Brazilian born Muay Thai stylist has pulled off more than a few spectacular knockouts during his career but after back-to-back losses to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kevin Lee, he’s looking to return to the win column when he faces Hooker in December.
The UFC on FOX 31 card will serve as the final UFC show on the main FOX network as their broadcast deal expires at the end of 2018. No main event for the card has been announced yet.
