Floyd Mayweather and Dana White making “spectacular event” in 2020
Floyd Mayweather and UFC president Dana White are once again working together to “bring the world another spectacular event in 2020.” Mayweather revealed the big news on his Instagram where he is pictured with the UFC boss.
Mayweather also shared a picture of himself with the caption “Coming out of retirement in 2020,” a complete u-turn from his latest interview where he claimed that he was staying retired because of the brutality of the sport of boxing.
Mayweather vs. McGregor 2?
The recent posts has of sparked rumors about a potential rematch between Mayweather and MMA superstar Conor McGregor. The two fought in August 26 2017 and the viral match-up ended with a TKO victory for Mayweather in the tenth round.
Since then neither Mayweather or McGregor has competed in a professional fight, even though Mayweather was involved in a highly-controversial exhibition fight against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in end of 2018.
Dana White and UFC was co-promoting Mayweather vs. McGregor and there has long been talks about White kick-starting Zuffa Boxing, something that might be reality in 2020.
Time will tell what Mayweather and White’s event will hold, but one thing is for certain: it’s going to be big!
