Swanson will look to bounce back after suffering two consecutive losses in a row in fights against Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar. The veteran featherweight contender has never dropped three fights in a row and it’s doubtful he wants to start now after inking a new contract with the UFC just recently.
As for Moicano, the Brazilian fighter will step into the Octagon with an impressive 12-1-1 record with his only loss coming to Ortega as well. Moicano has picked up wins over the likes of Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar in recent contests but he’ll definitely face a stiff test going against Swanson.
Swanson vs. Moicano is the latest addition to the growing UFC 227 lineup that will also feature a bantamweight title fight between T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Cody Garbrandt.
