Video: Conor McGregor lights up huge joint in response to sports star

All things considered, Conor McGregor seems to be enjoying retirement, as he openly sent a video as he smokes a joint on a beach.

The world is in a strange state as it reels from the Covid-19 outbreak. While many are struggling to find a sense of normalcy, others are dealing with the situation quite well. Wealthy athletes and sports stars have a much easier time making the best of dire situations than the fans who follow them, for example.

This was illustrated quite well, as football star Sergio Ramos reached out to Conor McGregor, asking how retirement was – The Irishman responds in video format as he smokes a large joint on a beach. The video has since gone viral, with many making jokes and connections relating to known marijuana user Nate Diaz, who fought McGregor twice.

McGregor seemingly retired following the ups in the lightweight division. He also claims to have lost a lot of his fire for MMA.

“I’m a bit bored of the game,” he told ESPN. “I’m here watching the fight. I watched the last show — the [Tyron-Woodley-Gilbert Burns] show — I watched the show tonight. I’m just not excited about the game, Ariel. I don’t know if it’s no crowd. I don’t know what it is. There’s just no buzz for me.”

This is to be taken with a grain of salt, however, as it’s the third time McGregor has retired. Both previous times he returned for huge, record-breaking fights.

UFC president Dana White is also apprehensive concerning the finality of the retirement. White believes that McGregor can return if the right opportunity presents itself.

“What’s going on with Conor McGregor is what goes on with all professional athletes when they become extremely wealthy,” White said. “Conor McGregor is rich. He gets to pick and choose what he wants to do now, and he’s at that point in his career where he’s got a few fights left. As of right now, he’s retired, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out and wanted to fight somebody next year after all these different fights play out.”
