Nurmagomedov, McGregor Will Face Off for the First Time at UFC 229 Presser in NYC
The long awaited first face off between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor has finally been scheduled.
The two fighters who will compete in the UFC 229 main event on Oct. 6 will square off at a press conference at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. ET.
Now here’s the catch…
The press conference will be closed to the general public with only credentialed media in attendance alongside the fighters and UFC president Dana White, who will be moderating the question and answer session as well as squaring the fighters off before their showdown just a couple of weeks later.
Both McGregor and Nurmagomedov have been relatively quiet since their fight was first announced with the fighters staying focused on training rather than promoting what is expected to be the biggest UFC card of the year by a wide margin.
McGregor has largely stated out of the spotlight since his fight against Floyd Mayweather last year while Nurmagomedov was spending time at home in Russia before returning to train at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Calif. to prepare for this matchup.
The press conference will culminate in the highly anticipated first face off between the fighters, which will be the first time Nurmagomedov and McGregor have come together since the bout was announced.
The UFC 229 press conference will be live streamed with constant updates throughout the event as it unfolds next Thursday starting at 5 p.m. ET from New York.
