Conor McGregor Reveals First Training Footage Ahead of Showdown Against Khabib Nurmagomedov
Conor McGregor has been noticeably quiet in the lead up to his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 but it appears he’s just been hard at work.
While it’s been nearly two years since McGregor last stepped inside the Octagon, the Irishman has never been too far away from the gym where he spent most of last year getting ready for a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather and then preparing for his return to the UFC in 2018.
With his fight against Nurmagomedov only a few weeks away, McGregor released a first look inside his training camp with a short video released by the former two-division champion on Tuesday.

McGregor can be seen working on his striking technique but it also appears he’s putting a lot of focus on his wrestling, which makes perfect sense given Nurmagomedov’s grappling heavy offense in every one of his fights.
As it currently stands, McGregor is considered the underdog going into the fight against Nurmagomedov, who is undefeated with a long list of dominant performances on his UFC resume.
Obviously, McGregor is no stranger to the odds going against him but he seems to thrive when the world is telling him he’s going to lose.
McGregor has also spent his entire training camp in his native Ireland rather than relocating to Las Vegas as he’s done in the past. He is still expected to land in Las Vegas ahead of fight week for UFC 229 but there’s still no exact timeline for McGregor’s arrival into Sin City.
