Conor McGregor Doesn’t Want Floyd Mayweather’s Help or Encouragement Ahead of UFC 229
Once an enemy, always an enemy.
That appears to be the philosophy that Conor McGregor is living by these days after he responded in emphatic form following an interview with former opponent Floyd Mayweather on Tuesday.
The undefeated boxer, who retired from the sport after earning a 10th round TKO against McGregor last year, had several kind words to say about the Irishman when asked about his upcoming fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
While Mayweather called McGregor a ‘warrior’ and even offered to train together ahead of his next fight, the former two-division UFC champion apparently has more than enough friends in his camp already.
“F–k the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “There is no peace here kid. Step up or step down.”

McGregor has maintained his ire towards Mayweather essentially ever since the night after their fight last year ended up pulling in the second most pay-per-view buys in history.
Mayweather even teased a potential move into mixed martial arts that would have undoubtedly set up another massive payday to fight McGregor in a rematch.
Of course it’s not likely Mayweather was ever serious about that move, but McGregor isn’t letting go of his grudge, no matter how many nice things his former opponent says about him.
Not to be out done, Mayweather did manage one final response to McGregor on Twitter.
