Otto Wallin Braces for Epic Showdown with Anthony Joshua
Swedish heavyweight boxer Otto Wallin is set to face one of the world’s top heavyweights, Anthony Joshua, on December 23rd. The much-anticipated bout is part of a super gala event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring a stellar lineup of the world’s top-ranked heavyweights. Wallin, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity, said, “This is a very good chance for me, a match that I have been looking forward to for a long time and that I really like.”
Entering the ring with a professional record of 26 wins and one loss, Wallin views the fight against Joshua, who has 26 wins and three losses, as a pivotal moment in his career. Joshua, a 34-year-old Englishman, boasts a decorated career, including Olympic gold as an amateur and a world championship title as a professional. He recently secured a knockout victory against Finnish boxer Robert Helenius in August.
Wallin acknowledged Joshua’s status as a top heavyweight but noted a perceived dip in his confidence. He also mentioned the additional pressure Joshua faces as a former world champion aiming to reclaim the title. Wallin, coming off a recent victory against Gassiev and enjoying a high world ranking, feels confident and ready for the challenge. “After my recent tough victory over Gassiev, which was also confirmed by my now high world ranking, I am full of confidence and look forward to showing it in the ring against AJ. This is a match I deserve and am ready for,” concluded Wallin.
