Dan Hooker on His Next Opponent After UFC 305
Although Dan Hooker has previously jumped the gun when announcing a fight against Charles Oliveira, his recent playful challenge seems to have effectively set up his next bout after an engaging conversation with UFC matchmaker Hunter Campbell. Hooker is now expected to face Oliveira or another top contender.
Post-Fight Discussion with UFC Matchmaker
After his split decision win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305, Hooker shared that he had a brief but lively conversation with Campbell during the latest episode of “Pub Talk.” Hooker and the show’s host, Oscar Willis, recounted how, after some celebratory drinks, they encountered Campbell in the hotel lobby. Hooker quickly attempted to secure his next fight, responding to Campbell’s query with, “I’ll smash all these dogs, give me every one of them!”
Hooker’s manager tried to steer the conversation, suggesting that he handle the matchmaking, but Hooker was persistent, especially regarding a potential fight against Arman Tsarukyan.
Oliveira or Tsarukyan Next for Hooker?
Willis and Hooker both suggested that Campbell seemed convinced of the possibility of setting up a fight with former champion Charles Oliveira. However, Hooker also pushed for a fight against Tsarukyan, stating,
“Yeah, they want Charles, it’s a good match, but there are a lot of cool things I could do. The situation is pretty crazy, and it’s such a wild sport, so we’ll see how it plays out.”
Hooker elaborated on his willingness to take the hardest path to the title, listing top contenders like Jalin Turner, Gamrot, Tsarukyan, and Islam Makhachev.
“I don’t care, I want to fight everyone – even Arman, bro. I told Hunter that I’d love to fight Arman because screw it, we’ll take the toughest road to the title possible.”

Hooker’s Manager Confirms Oliveira Fight
In a seemingly inebriated yet accurate conversation with Campbell, Hooker’s manager reportedly informed him that a match with Oliveira had been locked in. However, Hooker humorously kept insisting on Tsarukyan, even though Oliveira seemed to be the confirmed opponent.
Hooker’s animosity towards Tsarukyan also played a role in his insistence on this fight.
“I said I hate the bastard; I told Hunter I’m going to smash his face and that I hate the dog… He’s just a bastard, he’s been talking shit for years, bro.”
Although the UFC has not officially confirmed anything, a fight against Charles Oliveira is highly likely for Dan Hooker, now ranked No. 5 in the lightweight division.
