Michael Bisping Slams Jake Paul Over Tyson Match Comments: “This is No Game”
Paul’s Controversial Statement
The 27-year-old YouTube star, Jake Paul, is set to face 57-year-old Mike Tyson in a professional boxing match on July 20th. The event will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Last week, Paul made a provocative statement about the upcoming bout, saying, “Someone has to die.”
“It’s an honor to step into the ring with him, but I have to finish him,” Jake Paul said. “It’s war. In war and love, everything is fair. I love the guy, but once it became a professional match, it became a matter of life and death.”
Mike Tyson fought his last match against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, which was also the event where Jake Paul made his professional boxing debut against basketball player Nate Robinson.
Bisping’s Harsh Criticism
UFC commentator Michael Bisping has repeatedly criticized Paul’s upcoming match with Mike Tyson. In a YouTube video, Bisping targeted Paul for his comment about death in the ring.
“He should be ashamed of saying that. It’s embarrassing; one shouldn’t take such statements lightly. In reality, several boxers die every year. This is not a game; it is real. Boxing is a legitimate, deadly sport where many people lose their lives annually,” Bisping expressed.
Michael Bisping, who is 45 years old, revealed that he had declined an offer to fight Paul due to injuries. However, Bisping is rumored to be considering a match against his former rival Luke Rockhold in Karate Combat.
