Luke Rockhold’s Bold Proposal for a Karate Combat Grand Prix!

"One champion, in Karate Combat," Rockhold dreams big.

Rockhold’s Recent Ring Adventures

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has transitioned from the octagon to the squared circle, and now to the Karate Combat arena. After his departure from UFC following a defeat at the hands of Paulo Costa at UFC 278, Rockhold faced BKFC star Mike Perry at BKFC 41. The first round was closely contested, but Perry secured a TKO victory in the second round.

Continuing his combat sports journey, Rockhold recently competed at Karate Combat 45 in Abu Dhabi, where he achieved his first victory since 2017, defeating former Bellator fighter Joe Schilling by TKO.

A Star-Studded Tournament Idea

In a recent episode of the JAXXON podcast, Rockhold revealed his grand idea for Karate Combat: a one-night Grand Prix featuring former UFC champions—himself, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, and Lyoto Machida. “Me, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, and Lyoto Machida, all in one tournament, like a lottery. One champion, in Karate Combat,” Rockhold proposed. This concept could reignite fan interest with legendary fighters clashing in a new format.

Michael Bisping, who retired from professional MMA after a loss to Kelvin Gastelum in November 2017, has already expressed his willingness to face Rockhold in Karate Combat. This could set the stage for a thrilling encounter between former adversaries in a fresh combat setting.
