Revealed: The Highly Anticipated PFL vs Bellator Superfight Card!
The eagerly awaited superfight event from the Professional Fighters League (PFL), featuring champions from both PFL and Bellator, is now officially announced!
This groundbreaking PFL vs Bellator event is set to take place on February 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will be a Pay-Per-View (PPV) event. Renowned MMA reporter Ariel Helwani first discussed this gala, which has now been confirmed by PFL.
The event will feature four champion-versus-champion matches, each consisting of three rounds of five minutes. Neither PFL nor Bellator titles will be on the line in these super fights. A notable rule change for this event is the allowance of elbow strikes, which are typically prohibited during the PFL season.
PFL CEO Peter Murray stated in a press release, “The Middle East is the fighting capital of the world, and the Professional Fighters League is proud to bring the world’s best martial arts stars to Saudi Arabia for Riyadh Season, hosting the first-ever PFL PPV Super Fight mega-global event. PFL champions vs Bellator champions will change the game for all fighters and fans.”
In addition to the crossover fights between PFL and Bellator athletes, the event will also feature matchups like UFC veteran Yoel Romero taking on former UFC colleague Thiago Santos in a main card bout. The evening’s main event showcases a heavyweight clash between PFL’s Renan Ferreira and former Bellator double-champion and UFC veteran Ryan Bader.
This event comes after the news that PFL acquired Bellator at the end of last year. Below is a closer look at the matchups scheduled for this inaugural PFL vs. Bellator event in February:
