Mark Hunt Blasts Dana White Over UFC’s Departure from USADA

Ex-UFC Star Foresees Downfall Following Anti-Doping Policy Change

Former UFC heavyweight contender, Mark Hunt, unleashes a scathing attack on UFC President Dana White, following the announcement that the promotion is parting ways with the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). The split, scheduled for January 1, 2024, marks a significant shift in the UFC’s anti-doping efforts, a move that has sparked a fierce reaction from the outspoken Hunt.

In what appears to be a turbulent period for the UFC, the organization’s decision to replace USADA with Drug Free Sport International for its drug testing procedures has drawn criticism and skepticism from various quarters. None have been more vocal than Mark Hunt, who expressed his mistrust towards Dana White in an explosive social media outburst.

Hunt’s contentious relationship with the UFC management, particularly Dana White, is no secret. His recent Instagram post was a clear reflection of the ongoing bitterness.

“I give you a year [Dana White and UFC] before you are no more,”

Hunt predicted, accusing the promotion of mistreating fighters.

“You can’t keep ripping fighters and their families off. The exodus from you criminals is already starting.”

The veteran fighter didn’t stop there, branding White as a “scumbag gutterdog” and a “worthless mutt.” He implied a correlation between the UFC’s departure from USADA, the dismissal of his lawsuit, and the highly anticipated return of Conor McGregor, whose drug-testing regime has been under scrutiny.

This public spat traces back to Hunt’s legal battle against the UFC, Dana White, and Brock Lesnar, following his bout at UFC 200 in July 2016. After losing to Lesnar, who later failed a drug test, Hunt accused all parties of collusion, alleging that the UFC permitted Lesnar’s use of performance-enhancing drugs. Though Lesnar’s victory was subsequently deemed a no-contest, the legal confrontation intensified, with Hunt alleging racketeering, fraud, and breach of contract.

However, the case hit a wall when U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey dismissed it, citing insufficient evidence of collusion or that Hunt was deliberately deceived. This outcome, coupled with the UFC’s recent split from USADA, has evidently fueled Hunt’s latest tirade against the organization and its president.

Mark Hunt’s fiery comments underscore the deep-seated tensions between certain fighters and UFC executives, highlighting ongoing concerns over fair play, transparency, and the welfare of athletes. As the UFC embarks on a new chapter in its anti-doping policy, only time will tell if Hunt’s predictions will manifest and what the future truly holds for the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization.
