UFC star Nate Diaz “almost beat up” Dana White at a nightclub!
Nate Diaz “almost” put UFC president Dana White in his place during an afterparty at a nightclub!
The relationship between the Diaz brothers and White has been mostly amicable through the years, but that doesn’t mean that they haven’t had their fair share of conflict. During an afterparty for The Ultimate Fighter season 20, where Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez coached, an argument between White and Diaz nearly escalated into something more serious.
“No one ever tells me what to do,” Diaz told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto during a recent interview. “I almost beat up Dana White in a club one time. You should have seen it. Did he tell you about it? You should ask him. He was talking shit and arguing. I was mad at him; I shouldn’t have been mad at him. But it was a long time ago.”
“I’m on Dana White’s side. It’s all love. I understand business, it’s all good. Me and Dana always got along with everything.”
During yesterday’s press conference for Dana White’s Contender Series, White was asked about the incident. While he did hint at the story being true, White wasn’t interested in elaborating further!
“Allegedly! Allegedly,” White said with a laugh. “We were drinking! Does anybody else have any other questions?”
This weekend Diaz takes on rising star Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. The headlining bout will be Diaz’s last in the UFC. Despite the fact that negotiations between the Diaz brothers and the UFC have been difficult at times, White says he doesn’t hold any grudges, and wishes them nothing but the best moving forward.
“But looking back the Diaz brothers have been an absolute blast. They’re legends in the sport. They’re legends in the company… If that’s what Nate wants then we wish him the best.”
“If he goes and fights with another promotion or if he starts another promotion, or whatever it is, I wish them the best.”
