Khamzat Chimaev challenges “skinny guy” Israel Adesanya
After all possible challenges to issue, rising star Khamzat Chimaev now has taken aim at UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Chiamev has taken the UFC by storm, competing at both middleweight and welterweight, as well as scoring three straight victories in just 66 days. Since his successes in the octagon, he has challenged a slew of well-known fighters such as Mike Perry, Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor. He has also shown clear interest in competing for titles at both middleweight and welterweight.
Adesanya most recently competed at UFC 253 this weekend, dispatching previously undefeated Paulo Costa in dominant fashion via second round TKO. Following Adesanya’s second straight title defence, Chimaev called out the reigning champ, saying that he was ready for the biggest fight the division has to offer.
“Borz is ready for the hunt and grab what belongs to him… I am ready, make this happen (Dana White, Sean Shellby, UFC).”
Chimaev would also take to Twitter to call out “skinny guy” Adesanya.

Despite making a huge splash in the UFC, Chimaev supposedly hasn’t registered on Adesanya’s radar. The reigning middleweight champion claims that he hasn’t seen a single one of Chimaev’s fights yet.
“I don’t even know the guy, I haven’t seen his fights yet,” Adesanya said. “I saw the presser and he was just talking s**t. He was just casting his net. Have you seen him fight? Rat lip? Meh …
“Tim said he fought low level competition,” Adesanya added. “So he thinks I’m an easy fight … that’s interesting. I mean, everyone does this when they’re coming up, casting the net wide. Yeah, keep casting.”
