Joe Rogan breaks out in tears after death of Chadwick Boseman
People all over the world are still in shock over the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, and UFC commentator Joe Rogan is one of those who was emotionally touched by Black Panther actor’s passing. Boseman lost the battle with cancer and passed away just three days ago, without the world having any previous knowledge of his illness. He has left a lasting impact and will remain a hero for many, starring in the first superhero film with an all black cast.
Speaking to Jimmy Smith on the Sirius XM podcast, Rogan had a hard time holding back his emotions as he spoke of Boseman, tearing up as he was talking.
“When you see a person who was inspirational for so many … that movie meant so much to people,” Rogan said. “It meant more to people than just a superhero movie because it was really the first all-black cast superhero movie. There’s such a disparity in terms of black superhero movies versus… there’s so many white superhero movies. That movie was a spectacular box-office success.

“As a human being outside of the movie, to be this guy who embodies what you would want from a movie star and a guy in a position of prominence and a guy who has a voice, to see him die at 43 of cancer—none of us had any idea—It speaks to his character that he would suffer in silence like that,” Joe Rogan added of Chadwick Boseman. “He didn’t make a big deal out of trying to get through cancer.”
Rogan is an outspoken person, never one to shy away from speaking his mind. Earlier this year that landed him in hot water, as he went off on the Texas Athletic Commission following the scoring of the Jon Jones vs Dominick Reyes fight.
For the most part, however, Rogan is a beloved MMA personality who is synonymous with the UFC for many.
