Yoel Romero out of his fight with Uriah Hall – 11 days before event!

UFC on ESPN: Munhoz vs Edgar will take place August 22nd at the UFC Apex Center – And may have to go ahead without its planned co-main event. According to reports from BJPenn.com, ex title challenger Yoel Romero is now out of his planned fight with striker Uriah Hall. The sources, which chose to stay anonymous, could not disclose the exact reasons for this.

OTHER MMA NEWS:

As of now the UFC have not confirmed the loss of Romero vs Hall, and it’s also not clear as to if Hall will face a replacement opponent instead.

Romero is a former Olympian wrestler for the Cuban national team, and is athletic beyond what many would think is possible for a 43 year old. Currently, though, Romero is in a tough spot in the UFC as he has lost three straight fights, and four out of his last five. All those losses have come via close decisions, however. In fact, his most recent loss was to current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Romero was given that title shot coming off of a razor thin split decision loss to Paulo Costa. Romero’s loss before the Costa bout was in yet another closely contested bout, in which he went five rounds with former champion Robert Whittaker.

Who should Uriah Hall face now that Yoel Romero is out of the fight?
