Conor McGregor takes stand against racism in support of George Floyd
Using his platform to speak out against racism, Conor McGregor took to social media to reach his followers.
In times of injustice it is important to speak up. The recent, seemingly racially motivated murder of unarmed African-American George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers has sparked understandable outrage. It has opened up old wounds and accusations of systematic racism by United States police. This has in turn caused a series of protests, in which violence has erupted in many cases.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to the streets of Albuquerque, in an attempt to restore order and prevent vandalism. However the case of Floyd and the overarching police brutality and institutionalised racism that plagues the case has reached the hearts of many compassionate people.
UFC star Conor McGregor took to social media to take a stand against racism, and express his feelings.
