Jon Jones responds to strange "fisting" comment from Jan Blachowicz -

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has fired back after a comment from Polish contender Jan Blachowicz that is bizarre at the very least.

It’s nothing new fro UFC champs to deal with challenges and call outs from the rest of their divisions. Fighters are gunning for the UFC title, and will at times go to strange lengths to get what they want. UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones certainly learned this, as he was recipient of a very bizarre comment sent by Polish striker Jan Blachowicz.

It began after that former title challenger Dominick Reyes claimed that Jones wasn’t interested in a rematch.

“I know the UFC is on board,” Reyes said earlier. “I know I’m on board. The issue is Jon right now. He’s going to say he’s down online, obviously on Twitter. When he gets those contracts in front of him, he’s a little different. That’s where we’re at.”

This comment did not go over well for Jones, who responded, saying that he was hardly afraid of a rematch, but that he is focused on Blachowicz as the next contender.

Blachowicz’ strange comment caused a reaction from Jones, who commented on the strangeness of the content.

“First of all it would be a fight, not a date and you’re not going to be fisting anyone. What a strange guy you are Jan.”

Due to the ongoing pandemic it’s hard to say when Jones will return to the UFC octagon and against whom. Many felt that Reyes had done enough to secure victory when he faced Jones, but he ended up losing a judges decision. After that Blachowicz KO’d Corey Anderson in the first round, making a strong case for himself as a potential title contender. In the end the UFC will have the final say, but it’s hard to know when the promotion will have the chance to book another title fight.
