Bellator fighter Isaiah Chapman shot to death outside of his home
We are currently going through hard times, and this recent news certainly doesn’t make things easier. Bellator bantamweight fighter Isaiah Chapman has been killed, after being shot several times outside of his home in Akron, Ohio.
The Akron Beacon Journal reported that a man had been shot multiple times. Police responded to the shooting, arriving at circa 9:40 PM. He was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital but was later pronounced dead. While the news story didn’t reveal his name, Chapman’s family did disclose details that it was he who had been murdered. The Bellator fighter’s family also set up a GoFundMe campaign to pay for funeral expenses.

As of now there is very little known about why Chapman was shot. As of now the suspect remains at large.
Chapman started his professional MMA career in 2012, winning his first four bouts. He then had some mixed results but would capture the bantamweight championship in Honor FC after defeating Tobiaus Taylor via split decision. Chapman then signed with Bellator MMA, having his first bout with the promotion in October of 2019 at Bellator 232. Chapman faced Patchy Mix at that event, losing via first round submission.
