Tragedy strikes – Floyd Mayweather’s ex, and mother to 3 children, found dead
Josie Harris, former girlfriend to world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, and mother to three of his children, has been found dead. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Harris was found unresponsive in a car outside of her home on Tuesday around 10 p.m. She was later pronounced dead on the scene. According to Lt. Derrick Alfred it’s being treated as a death investigation as opposed to a murder case, per CNN. As of now the coroner’s office has not released a cause of death.

Harris and Mayweather had a hectic relationship, as there were multiple allegations of domestic abuse, she also sued him for defamation in 2015. When they broke up in 2010, they had been together for over ten years and she is mother to three of his children. The former boxing star has not yet released any public statement regarding the tragedy. Based on his social media he has been travelling around Europe the past few days.
Mayweather remains retired from boxing, despite rumours of a potential comeback. There was talk of an exhibition rematch with Manny Pacquiao, but nothing has materialised. The undefeated boxer has announced plans to work with UFC president Dana White. While this has caused much talk of a potential MMA bout, that is highly unlikely. The more probable plans involve Zuffa Boxing, as White is a massive boxing fan and has been interested in branching out.
“(Dana White) and I working together again to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020,” Mayweather wrote on an instagram post last year. It remains to be seen if this recent tragedy affects Mayweather’s business plans for 2020.
