The death that killed UFC’s Super Fight – Dana White reveals his regret

✅ The UFC Super Fight was scheduled for Texas Stadium

UFC President Dana White has booked thousands of fights during his years as the organization’s leader.

But there is one UFC Super Fight that he regrets not being able to put together.

In an interview on UFC.com, White got asked about the pending fight between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, and revealed another fight that never materialized.

Let’s not hope the same goes for Khabib vs. Ferguson on April 18, 2020 at UFC 249.

“The only fight that I wanted to make that was never made was Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko. We were going to do it at Texas Stadium. But I couldn’t get a deal done with Fedor, so it never happened,” Dana White said.

UFC Super Fight: Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor

“The Last Emperor” Emelianenko is widely regarded as one of the best heavyweights of all time, but the 43-year-old has yet to step into the octagon. The UFC has on numerous occasions tried to sign a contract with the Russian, and in 2013 they came really close.

When a contract was almost signed, a death put a stop to all negotiations between the UFC and Emelianenko:

“We were in deep talks with [Fedor]),” White said in 2013. “We were that close to signing him recently, right before his dad died. We were right there.

When I was talking about doing the big Dallas, Texas, stadium show? It was going to be Brock Lesnar vs. (Fedor).

“Remember when I met with him and said it didn’t go well? It actually went well. It went well, and Brock wanted to fight Fedor. Then (Fedor’s) dad died, and he was done.”

Fedor recently returned to competition as he took on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at the Bellator & Rizin: Japan event in Tokyo on December 29, 2019

“The Last Emperor” knocked out the heavy “Rampage” in the first round and thus returned to his winning ways, after a KO loss against Ryan Bader in early 2019.

Fedor has competed under the Bellator banner since 2017, and has insinuated that he only has two fights left before he hangs up his gloves for good.

Who do you think would have won, Fedor Emelianenko or Brock Lesnar?
