Kamaru Usman warns Conor McGregor: “He must want to die”

"This is not what you want"

Kamaru Usman isn’t giving Conor McGregor a chance if they ever meet in the octagon.

In the main event at UFC 245 Usman defended his title against bitter rival Colby Covington, winning via fifth round TKO. With that win, Usman’s star shines brighter than ever. Many were impressed with Usman’s resilience and power, and he did enough to end up on McGreg0r’s radar.

In a tweet, McGregor cryptically wrote “145. 155. 170.,” referring to the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions. McGregor has previously captured both the featherweight and lightweight titles, after knocking out Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez respectively. Both titles were, however, stripped due to inactivity.

Despite that impressive resumé and two high-profile fights at welterweight against Nate Diaz, Usman doesn’t give McGregor a chance if he ever faced the Irishman.

“He must want to die,” Usman said in an interview with TMZ.

“I mean, what?! He must want to die. This is not ’45, ’55. You saw what Khabib [Nurmagomedov] did to him. Oh my god, it wouldn’t even be fair if I fought Conor. Much respect to Conor for what he’s done for this sport and transcended it. [But] Nah, this is not what you want. Just sit down little man, sit down. Learn to walk before you can run because I would hurt that [Conor McGregor] guy.”

McGregor is next scheduled to face Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, in the main event at UFC 246. That bout takes place at welterweight.
