Darren Till calls for co-main slot on Conor McGregor comeback card
Yesterday it was made official: UFC superstar Conor McGregor will return to the promotion on January 18th. Th event for McGregor’s comeback is UFC 246, which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will surely be one of the years biggest cards, despite being the first of 2020, and Darren Till wants in on it.
Till, who made a successful middleweight debut at UFC 244, defeating Kelvin Gastelum, is also set to return following his latest victory. He and former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker have unofficially agreed to fight, in fact. While most of the talk has centred around the planned UFC London card, it seems Till wants to get back into the octagon sooner. In a post on social media, he made it clear that he would like to face Whittaker at UFC 246.

“Surely they need a co-main event? @robwhittakermma let’s go,” Till wrote on Instagram.
The victory over Gastelum at UFC 244 was a much needed one for Till. He managed to defeat Gastelum via split decision despite being a notable betting underdog. Before that he’d been finished in consecutive bouts, a submission loss to Tyron Woodley and a KO loss to Jorge Masvidal. As of now the UFC have not officially booked anything for Till. However it stands to reason that the UFC would benefit more by having him on the planned London card, but that remains to be seen.
