Jorge Masvidal slams Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman: “Hugback mountain…”
If it wasn’t already clear: Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal is decidedly not a fan of Kamaru Usman or Colby Covington.
Usman, reigning welterweight champion, will put his title on the line against Covington in the main event at UFC 245. The event goes down in Las Vegas, December 14th, and is the final of three title fights scheduled that night. Both Usman and Covington have wrestling-heavy styles, something that Masvidal doesn’t seem to think too highly of.

I would like to know the rules of engagement for the ufc event coming up brought to us by the same boys who gave us “ Hugback Mountain “ and https://t.co/qnpZZpLdEH. We know hugging is strictly enforced and mandated but what about punching, knees, and elbows? #askingforafriend

Masvidal has enjoyed a fantastic year, as he has lined up three straight wins via stoppage. He began 2019 by knocking out Darren Till in London, and then brutally KO’d Ben Askren at UFC 239. He capped off the year by defeating Nate Diaz via TKO (doctor stoppage) at UFC 244, also winning the inaugural BMF title. While not officially the next contender at welterweight there is a good chance that Masvidal faces the UFC 245 main event winner.
Usman is undefeated in the UFC and got past Demian Maia and Rafael dos Anjos on route to a title shot. Despite being a betting underdog, Usman dominated former champ Tyron Woodley over the coarse of five rounds, winning a clear cut decision. Covington is on a seven fight winning streak, including victories over Dong Hyun Kim and most recently former champ Robbie Lawler.
