Ben Askren challenged by Dillon Danis following his MMA retirement
It didn’t take many hours after Ben Askren’s retirement from mixed martial arts before he got challenged. Among the many praising voices, Bellator fighter Dillon Danis chimed in and issued a challenge to “Funky” Askren (in a now deleted Tweet):
Ben Askren said when he retired he will face me in a grappling match, i’m ready to go just tell me the date.

Danis also praised the former ONE Championship and Bellator Champion and stated that he thinks their path will cross soon.

Dillon Danis vs. Ben Askren?
A match between Danis and Asken isn’t very likely at the moment, since Askren will undergo a major hip surgery that prompted him to retire at the age of 35.
Dillon Danis rose to fame as Conor McGregor’s training partner and has a long history of grappling with some of the best in the world. He kicked off his MMA career in April 2019 with a first-round submission victory and returned to competition in June 2019 where he got another first-round submission win under the Bellator banner.
Ben Askren was Bellator’s welterweight champion between 2010-2013 and has yet to comment on Danis challenge.
