Colby Covington fires another shot at “communist millionaire” Lebron James
November 11th was Veterans Day, and Colby Covington used the opportunity to throw shade. Taking the time to honour his father, a US army veteran of two American wars, he didn’t stop there. While he explained that army veterans are heroes and worthy of looking up to, he decided to make clear that “cry baby communist millionaires” like Basketball Star Lebron James, aren’t.
“My Grandfather is a Veteran of both Vietnam and The Korean War,” Covington wrote. “One day isn’t enough to thank these heroes for their service. Stop looking up to cry baby communist millionaires like @KingJames and start looking up to the real heroes of your country and community. The Veterans.”

Bizarrely, this is not the first time Covington has taken aim at Lebron James, or other sports figures outside of MMA. He took to Twitter earlier this year in the first shots fired at at James, those attacks were in relation to comments the NBA star made about China. Just a few days earlier he had ripped the LA Dodgers for their stance on visiting the White House.
Covington is scheduled to face reigning welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for the title at UFC 245. Covington most recently defeated Robbie Lawler in a dominant – his seventh straight victory in his ongoing win streak. He has now defeated the likes of Rafael dos Anjos and Dong Hyun Kim, amongst others. Usman, however, sits on an even better ten fight win streak – the longest in the division. He has yet to taste defeat in the UFC, and was most recently active at UFC 235 where he dominated Tyron Woodley for five rounds.
