Nick Diaz wants UFC return against Jorge Masvidal: “Don’t talk like that to nobody”

Nick Diaz did NOT take kindly to Jorge Masvidal's remarks about Nate Diaz - And now he's targeting a return to the UFC to settle the score

Will Nick Diaz finally return to the UFC? All indications are pointing towards it.

Fans around the world got to catch a glimpse of the seemingly retired older Diaz brother at UFC 244, as he was part of Nate Diaz team. While the general consensus was that Nick Diaz was done with fighting, that all seems to have changed.

As is now known, the main event between Diaz and Masvidal at UFC 244 was ruled a TKO win for the latter as the ringside doctor stopped the bout due to the cuts Diaz had accumulated. Both before and after the fight Masvidal sprung his classic quite, saying he was going to “baptize” Diaz. After the fight he claimed that he didn’t get the chance to do so.

This sparked a stern response from the older Diaz brother, who didn’t like the way Masvidal spoke of his younger sibling.

“All I see is fucking dollar signs right now,” Diaz said. “It’s not on me. You wanna talk about baptizing my younger brother, that’s on you. I never had nothing disrespectful to say, but you don’t talk about baptizing my younger brother. So you’re already in a fucked up position if you fight with me. You don’t fucking talk about baptizing someone’s younger brother. That’s my baby brother, you don’t talk like that to nobody. So who rides on who’s side?

“You wanna say that? You wanna walk? That’s on you,” Diaz added. “I can relate to you, that’s why I ain’t mad at you. But if you wanna walk, that’s on you.”

Diaz Manager Keving Mubenga later told ESPN that they are targeting a return to the UFC in spring 2020, ideally at AT&T Stadium in Arrlington, Texas – Home of the Dallas Cowboys.

“You know, it’s on you Dana,” Diaz said, referring to UFC president Dana White. “It’s on you, UFC. … that’s on them. It’s in your hands now. Cowboy Stadium.”

Diaz hasn’t fought since 2015, when he went five rounds with Anderson Silva. The bout was originally a decision loss for Diaz, but it was overturned to a No Contest after that Silva tested positive for banned substances.
