Breaking odds for Jose Aldo vs Marlon Moraes, Urijah Faber vs Petr Yan
Two huge fights in the bantamweight division have been announced for UFC 245, which takes place in Las Vegas, December 14th. Both fights are at bamtamweight and feature two of the lighter weightclasses’ biggest stars. Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will move down to face fellow Brazilian Marlon Moraes in a pivotal bout for the division. Also, former WEC champion Urijah “The California Kid” Faber will take on Russian Phenom Petr Yan, who has blazed a trail through the division. Now odds have been released for both Aldo’s and Faber’s bouts.

Odds makers at Ohmbet see both the fan favourites as underdogs. In Aldo’s case, he is a slim underdog at 2.20 versus betting favourite Moraes, who sits at 1.60. This is a much slimmer margin than what can be said in “The California Kid’s” case. Faber is a huge underdog at 4.50 against Yan, who is a sizeable favourite at 1.16.

Aldo is coming off of a tough unanimous decision defeat against Alexander Volkanovski on home soil. That loss snapped a two fight winning streak including an impressive TKO win over Jeremy Stephens. Moraes is also coming off of a win streak-snapping loss. The Brazilian faced Henry Cejudo for the vacant bantamweight title, and was TKO’d in the third round. That loss broke a four fight winning streak, with three finishes.
Faber returned from retirement to take on streaking prospect Ricky Simon at UFC Sacramento. The proud Californian Faber showed a return to classic form as he finished Simon via strikes in the first round. Yan has established himself as a top contender in the UFC with five impressive wins in the span of just one year. He has defeated the likes of John Dodson and Jimmie Rivera so far in his impressive run.
