Greg Hardy SIZEABLE underdog ahead of “Drago” fight at UFC Moscow
It was announced just today that Greg Hardy will be stepping in for Junior dos Santos, taking on Alexander “Drago” Volkov in the main event at UFC Moscow on November seventh. Dos Santos was forced out of the fight due to him contracting a skin infection. Now, less than a week removed from his controversial fight at UFC Boston, Hardy has accepted the fight, which will serve as the events co-main event. While surprising, considering the two heavyweights record and ranking in the UFC, the odds might be less so.
Bettling lines for Alexander Volkov vs Greg Hardy
Ohmbet have now released the odds for the fight, with Volkov as a clear favourite over Hardy. Hometown hero Volkov sits at 1.30, with Hardy at over three times the bet at 3.30.
Apparently, this bout was Hardy’s idea, as his manager Malki Kawa told ESPN.
“This was Greg’s idea,” said Kawa, of First Round Management. “He trains with Junior dos Santos at American Top Team and saw that he was sick. He called me up and asked what I thought about him fighting Volkov. I actually didn’t like the fight for him, I thought maybe it was too soon, but Greg wants to step up in competition.
“He thinks he can go to Moscow and knock him out, and he wanted to help the promotion, which is exactly what he did.”

Hardy is most recently coming off of a No Contest bout against Ben Sosoli. Originally a decision win for Hardy, the result was overturned due to the illegal use of an inhaler. That snapped a two fight winning streak consisting of TKO’s over Dmitry Smolyakov and Juan Adams. Volkov is coming of of a knockout loss to Derrick Lewis, that snapped his winning streak of four straight victories in the UFC.
